Today,we continued on to reading MARIQUITA (A Tragedy of Guam). I liked how Mariquita was getting irritated of Eddie because he wasn't giving her attention but he was just into the movie. The way Eddie showed his love for her was very courageous and brave. But one part I found very funny is when the girls were wearing hats just to see a movie. (how odd is that?) I believe til this day that the common chamorro courtesy still does exist for the ones that acknowledge its culture.

It is kinda funny about the hat the women wear at that time, i believe that men are the ones using the hat and as far as the culture goes some of them still exist.
ReplyDeleteI agree,Mariquita does not want to admit that she admires him. The culture and tradition begins at home. I can not wait for our next meeting.
ReplyDeletevery odd and funny that fact that the feather on the hat came from the rooster in the back yard lol.
