Today in class we did our individual reading. My book am reading is The Last Song. So far am on Chapter 12 and I stopped in class on Chapter 15. In these chapters Ronnie the main character is going through a tough time trying to talk to her father. Ronnie was mad at her father because he left her and her family 3 years ago. Ronnie met a girl name Blaze. Who she thought Blaze was a good friend. But during Chapter 13 Blaze got jealous that Ronnie was trying to steal her boyfriend Marcus. Ronnie's dad told her that you have to make good friends not friends that are going to get you in trouble. What had happen was that Blaze was at a record store and Ronnie saw her and just went in. Blaze was ignoring her the whole time. When Ronnie got closer to Blaze, she turned around to look at a cd. Blaze put a couple of CD's in her bag. Ronnie got in trouble again. Her first time was in New York. So if she gets in trouble this time she will go to jail. In the next chapter Ronnie walked the beach around her fathers house. She found a turtle nest by the house. So she stayed the whole time outside that night. The next day she called on her father to call the aquarium for them to mark the nest. When the aquarium person came. It was the guy who ran into her at the beach that pour soda all over her. His name was Will. She said don't tell me you work here and at the break shop. So that's all for now. I will tell you guys more tomorrow. Can't wait to finish and watch the movie.

Today in class we got to pick out books at either bestseller or the library. I have learned a lot so far in my reading class. I wish we can go on a field trip just see all the sites from Mariquita. So far the class has helped me so much in reading and comprehending.

using the the 5 strategies really does help with are reading and it gave me a better understanding as to how to be a better reader and that if I take my time reading  I comprehend better I think I now I would rather read a book then watch in on a movie, its just that using you imagination is better then seeing how another person see it and turns it into a movie. I have Improved in my reading just by using the 5 strategies that Mrs.Q has taught us and today he got to see are progress reports and I'm okay with what I have but I know I can improve.

 Santiago feels lost in Africa, he already wants to return home to Andalusia.He's lost all hope in finding his treasure.So he decided to find work and save his money and when he goes home he could buy some sheep's to continue what he's done before.but i believe that this story is all about lives experience and decisions.question is does he really want to go back or not? If life is full of disappointment and u can't seem to decide if you should move forward i say if at first u don't succeed try,try again.

Oh! I am almost finish with this book because reading for an hour and a half I got alot of chapters in.

Anyway, have you all guess what my story is about?  although, it's based on true events this book is also a chritian novel.  When someone we love have a terminal cancer we actually don't know how to respond to crises like these as to this story.  However, through these ordeal they still trust and had faith in God.  Till next episode readers.

February 28 2012 chapter 21-26

It was Stella Birthday the Morning when she turned 5 years old, john remembered  what she had asked for her birthday and that morning just before she was awake he crawled in to her room and sat right on her bed and said Good morning birthday girl holding a little kitten with gifts on the floor as she woke up she was so happy and so excited to open up all her gifts but john and Amy had save some for later that night, after breakfast they went on their way Amy and Stella went to school  and  John heading in to the Disney Studio trying to hurry to get off work and then rush home to make in on time for Stella's birthday dinner and before she goes to sleep.
But that late afternoon John was taken to the Hospital and admitted into the emergency room with nausea and chest pains everyone thought that he was having a heart attack, later that night while he was being treated for a heart attack he wasn't having, John died of an acute aortic dissection. John wife Amy and his 4 kids were so Hurt, shock and it was just such a sad  Amy would lay on the kitchen floor and just cry and cry, I can't even imagine her pain, but like she said , Time heals all wounds and that she grew strong remembering that john would have wanted her to live life with love and laughter. omg.. the ending was just so amazing that the title of the book said it all, I mean it was interesting, heartbreaking, funny, true, and strong.

Well as you know Denver got on the freight going to California to start fresh.  But instead he ended up on Texas soil.  He couldn't really hold a job long enough, remember all he knew was cotton.  As for Ron he fell in love of course and not long they got hitched.  Gosh I believe I said toooooo much.  Later my fellow readers.

Today is a Monday!...I didn't get to read much compared to the previous days. I am now currently on the diary dated September 29, 1943. On the previous days, Anne has described the people she currently has meals with, there are eight people. Anne also wrote a timeline on what she or other people do in the Secret Annexe. They have already been in the Secret Annexe for a year. Clothes and shoes are getting small and worn out. Cat fleas are all over the place. Burglars are breaking into the office steal food but luckily the Secret Annexe hasn't been discovered yet.

February 27 2012 Chapters 16-20

after Stella was born a year later John Ritter and Amy yesbeck got married their weeding was taken place at the Murphy theater in Wilmington,Ohio but usually every wedding was would throw rice but not at amy and john wedding they were throwing popcorn and most of the time a wedding would be at a church or some where nice. but their wedding was on stage at a Theater which I find cute given the fact that they are both actor's and they live happily for 4 years John ritter's other 3 kids form his first wife loved Stella and always spent time with john, Amy and Stella I find it very nice knowing that John was a good, loving, supportive and understanding  father he may have not been so faithful but at least he didn't forget his other children for a minute their when I was reading the beginning of the book I was just like what the hell you spend so much time at work and with Amy and not your wife and kids. I guess things turned out good reading anyways Amy became a stay at home mom caring for Stella and john was back to work the normal every day life. as soon as Stella turned 4 years old  John and Amy wanted to put stella in a a Co-op nursery school were they would have to volunteer at least twice a month and be on top of things when it came to Stella.

Today in call we started reading on our own. The book I am reading is The Last Song by:Nicholas Sparks. So far I can't seem to get my hands off the book. I am currently on Chapter 12. I can't wait to finish. I am so interested into the book. I have used all skills Mrs.Q has recommend us to be using. Visualzing is the best.

Eww so it mentions in Jennifer's note to her father about him touching her on the night of her birthday. OMG I can't believe it I was right, I knew it was him. no wonder why the poor girl never wants to go home. Behind every reason there is a story to it and boy does this story get on my nerves. Sick old man your suppose to protect your daughter not hurt her or touch her inappropriately. How could you want to love your own flesh in blood like you love her mother. I can't wait till Mrs. A catches you and finds that letter Jennifer wrote. Just because you are the Captain of the police force doesn't mean you'll get away from the law.

Okay..okay I noticed I'm starting to get carried off by reading too much, I read for 2 hours and I can't believe my eye's the more I keep scrolling down. Ugh Guerrero makes me sick. I swear the type of Officer he is, I want to literally hit him with a bat. The brutality he does to those kids. He makes me furious, But I do love how Mrs. A also known as Rita always has Jennifer's back. She has this emotion so strong as if it were her child. Mrs. A had a daughter that overdosed on drugs and it took her life. So I feel for the poor girl. And right when you think Jennifer is doing good ugh, she ran away again. But we will all soon find out why or where she ends up.

As I get more into the story , I notice it starts hitting my nerves.
it gets emotional where you can start to feel the rebelling of Jennifer and then the resentment towards who or which Policeman is the one controlling her feelings.
I want to know more read more and figure out , but I kinda have a feeling its her dad for some apparent reason. Cause every he is mentioned or brought up she just doesn't want to hear any of it.

santiago wanted to go home because  he lost all his money,as he walk around the market he stock his hand in the pouch and the stones were gone.he went crazy looking for it so he looked down and he saw the stones and he remembered the he had to look for a n omen there it was and he was happy again and he decided to push on to find his treasure. 

February 27 2012 chapter 13-15

chapter you know what is what the book calls chapter 13, but their is nothing to read in chapter 13 so I'm guessing this is the part were John Ritter divorces is wife and child custody drama happens thanks to Amy yesbeck with no consideration thinking that he had a family. but I can't really judge her for her action because it takes two to tango I guess it is what it is anyways in 1998 Amy yesbeck find out that she is pregnant and she and John are Happy and john's daughter Carly was excited to find out that she is having a little sister so like I said earlier in the book that if John and Amy were to have a child and it was a girl they were gonna name her Stella so they stuck to that name and when Amy was 9 months pregnant John Ritter asked her to Marry him and she said yes and few days later Amy gave birth to a baby girl named Stella.

which of course includes Amy yesbeck and their daughter stella it's sad tho how he has all these pictures with Amy and their daughter and I can't even fine one family picture with Nancy Morgan and his 3 kids.

February 26 2012 chapters 11-12

in 1994 Amy and John shared news years together at john Canyon house in California were they had an earthquake that made them have no power so they decide to head over to Amy Apartment were they still had there little thing on the side honestly  reading this book really makes me think less of the author amy yesback being the person she is  anyways back to the story and in 1997 they finally moved in together and took a trip to Italy in 1996 where they enjoyed themselves and she was just so mesmerized by The statue of Mary that had been their for hundreds of years but there was a lengthy inscription in latin that the statue was called Stella Maris The star of the sea the north star that guided the ancient mariners and Amy always told her self that if her and John would ever have a child and it was a baby girl that they would name her Stella.  

February 26, 2012 Chapters 18-20

Continue: Denver who was getting tired working on the cotton field and not earning any money decided to hop on the freight train and head to California but was still pondering what he's plans are once he get to California. On the other hand Ron is head over heels in love with Debbie but weighing out his options first. Ooooops next time readers.

I am now on the date August 4, 1943. Everyone staying at the Secret Annexe have been quarreling with each other and not getting along. All the adults including Anne's mother always has something to say about Anne just because she is the youngest in the Secret Annexe. They think Anne doesn't know things yet. She tends to just keep to herself and mind her business but there are some times were she will fight for what she believes. Her father who she calls Pim, occassionally comes to defend  her. She is closer to her father then she is to her mother. Her mother favors her sister Margot. They have been having a lot of air raids for the past few days. Air raids is when Germans on plane drop bombs to the ground not caring who gets hit, hurt or dies. During air raids, Anne has a difficult time sleeping or at most times doesn't sleep until it stops. The food they eat is just mostly bread, butter and beans. They can't complain because it's better to eat than to not eat at all.

February 25, 2012 Chapters 13-17

Continue on chapter 13-17.  On these chapters Denver had his own place to call his home but still worked in the cotton fields.  Actually he's getting tired of working in the cotton field and not earning any money, because the house that he's occuppying comes out of his credit from the man he's working for.  As for Ron he's still in college and seeing Debbie.  Oooops next time readers.

 Amy yesbeck starts her careers in show biz finally  meeting John Ritter in 1989 at  Dennis Dugan's house to read though a few scripts making their first move together called problem child she was supper excited cause she was one of his fans,  Amy and John was flirting off stage when they weren't busy after making the show they went on their separate ways making their careers happen for the both of them and in 1992 they met up and decided  to go to New york to see Jerry Lewis in Damn Yankess John Ritter was a Big Fan of jerry lewis
was he Idol and it wasn't just Amy and john that took the trip to see Jerry Lewis but also Markie and her husband and Michael Ross went with them, they really enjoy the show and invited Jerry Lewis to Dinner after the show was over they all meet up and had great laughs. as soon as that was over. Their was this Big Movie that everyone was talking about called Robbin Hood staring Mel Brooks and they are looking for a young woman in her 20's and Blond, Amy really want to try out but then she didn't have what they were looking for in others words she wasn't blond, but still her Agent sent a video to the director and he wanted to met Amy in person so she sowed up to an audition after doing the audition with the director and Mel Brooks they told her that they will call her if anything, then one after noon she got that call back and she was just so happy and excited to be working with Mel Brooks but there were some parts of the movie were you had to show some skin and she didn't know how to tell John or how he would take it. hmm.... reading more into the story seems as if even before his divorce in 1996 he was having a little thing on the side with Amy yesbeck shame on you both for fooling the world but the thing is we will never know why he was having his little thing with Amy yesbeck behind his wife's back, but I don't know maybe his wife was doing the same to him. I don't know if it wasn't a little thing and they were just really good Friends but it seems to me a little to friendly then just friends because Why would she care what john ritter have to think about the part in Robbin Hood were she had to show a little skin. I don't know if the book will tell me in the end but stay tuned now this book is beginning to seem very interesting..

Santiago met this man about his age,and made him trust him and no one else he told him in every place in Africa there were at least a couple of thieves.but as gullible as he was, he trusted him.He gave him all of his money to buy two camel to go to the pyramid.as a sword caught his eyes he turn his attention to the sword and lost sight of the boy he called his friend.he never cried in his life but at that moment tears feel from his face and all of a sudden he was sad and alone the boy was no whereto be seen.I think this part tells me that he had a poor judge of character.

Santiago  was kinda worried about his he was to worried about the treasure and the merchant's daughter.he every thing about his sheeps and it made it kinda hard to go to egypt but the next day he brought five sheep's and one lame.it didn't matter to the santiago.The old man explain to santiago that no matter how long he was gone he will never forget his sheep's and his sheep's won;t forget him.

So before bed, I started reading my novel. This book is a young girls journal (diary). She would constantly write in her diary about what is going on with the German vs Jew war til the point they had to go in hiding. It's a very interesting book, I did not fall asleep until 3:00am just reading in bed while sipping on my cup of coffee. As I got up this morning at 9:00am, I had to cook breakfast, ate breakfast...then cleaned up a bit then layed down on the couch to continue reading. Very, very interesting! Oh did I just say that already? This book doesn't have chapters but I am currently on her diary dated April 1, 1943. Anne gave a name for her diary and called it Kitty. Anne and her family and other friends are currently hiding out in a old office building they call Secret Annexe. So, until tomorrows blog! Oh by the way, I'm reading more then 30 minutes a day. Continue thru my chapters reading 30 min.  My book is based on two characters each revealing their stories I haven't yet come to their part of meeting each other.  On the other hand it was facinating how Ron who is a fare skin middle class wasn't far where President Kennedy was assasinated in November 22, 1963 Dallas Texas.  While Denver who is dark skin experience his first tragic ordeal with being born dark skin.  He was  lassoed as if he was horse drag half a mile until a christian family (fare skin) came to his aide.  He survived.  OOOPS until next time folk readers.  Have you all wondered what my book is about?

So, today I went to Best Seller with my daughter and was able to find this non-fiction book. I haven't started to read it yet but I will start as soon as I'm done with this blog, because I will need to catch up. My daughter said this book is nice because she is learning about it in her class now. She said she wants to read it as soon as I'm done with the book. I'll blog more about it tomorrow! 02.23.2012 was the first day we start our independent reading. Torn To Pieces was a book I pulled out from my daughter's room since it was within my reading level I decided to read it. I read all the way up to Chapter 8 but still did not find myself getting interested in the book. There was so much characters that I started to get confused on who is who. Weird huh? I went home last night and searched online for more non-fiction books online that I might be interested in. I was able to write the titles and hoping to find one with a reasonable price at Best Seller.

Chapter 5 and 6
talks about Amy and how she grew up and her life going to college she gave up due to she was lacking alot of credits but still she went on her way to live in Manhattan  taking it one day at a time working as a hostess at O'Neal's  was near most of all the theater, Ballet, Opera, and Juilliard  school, to Amy it was better then college because she was surrounded  by the real deal, besides all the work day in and out she didn't want anyone to know about her amy seems very privet she goes to work and straight home and doesn't have many friends at work until one day during working hours she over hears her co works talking about J. Michael Bloom an agent in New York, London, and L.A was going to be attending the O'Neals Brothers party so she just walks away and starts to do her job went over to Michel table and pours a cup of coffee as the agent tries to talk to her she just Blows him off and starts talk to the to who the agent considers the lowliest person on the table, The agent Michel was so upset yet amused and offered her a chance at an audition and she didn't back down Amy went to the audition and got a call back her first show was the '' Rock hopper'' 1985

Dorothy fay Southworth who study at Royal academy of dramatic arts in london, and moved to Hollywood where she did her modeling and auditioning for films she final made cast in a movie Rainbow Over the Range, starring opposite Tex Ritter then later they married and share Two sons  John Ritter  being the baby in his family and  his older brother named Tommy  he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy john was a very Observant, loving, respectful and friendly as a child.  He was consider as Americas most beloved cowboy Beloved son's brother.
  John and Dorthy yeskbeck was the mother and father of Amy yesbeck born in 1962  she had two brothers and two sisters she was born into a well establish family her father being in the U.S Air force growing up for Amy being around her mother was like walking on egg shells her mother smoked to much and was diagnosed with Manic depression tho she always thought of a cure for her mother thinking one day her mother would wake up and love her the way she knew her mother loved her. she would do anything to save her mother form her bipolar, manic depression freaking nuttiness is what amy called it LOL..
John began his professional acting career his first film was ''Scandalous John''
  John has three oldest kids named Jason, Carly, and Tyler  from his first
 wife Nancy Morgan married in 1977-1996.

THE TAKING

Jaycee Lee Dugard was kidnapped on June 10, 1991 (Monday) at the early age of 11 years old. She was missing and held in captivity for more than 18 years of her life. Jaycee gave birth 2 daughters from the man that kidnapped her on the way to school (there was a woman involved on the same day). Dugard was tasered and was paralyzed through out her entire body. Not being able to breathe, her head was covered with a blanket. The last freedom she touched was a "pinecone."

FEBRUARY 21, 2012 (TUESDAY)

Make-up day for the ones that did not take the assessment test. I was a little hesitant to ask if I could leave early because I had a special day to attend too. Thank goodness our teacher pointed at me saying I could leave early because my assignments where all done. I'm content that I was able to finish what needed to be turned in on time.Thinking of changing my book for another but I have no clue what to read.

FEB.23.2012 April Salas - Novel "Kirida"

I read the first line and I was already interested. The main character is Jennifer, and by the looks of the story I know shes confused and corrupted but theres a reason to why?. It mentions about being in the youth detention facility and I guess you can imagine what shes gotten herself into. The part that disgusted me and made me mad was when Officer Guererro came to her room to make her pay attention to Mrs. Santos, Jennifer started teasing officer Guererro and taking off her shirt and showing her breast. I know what she does is a cover up of who she really is. I read the first Chapter and in that chapter it had about 7 of it's own chapters.. So when I start going to the next I'll keep you posted. Did I mention the story is based on Guam and characters from Guam?

Is about santiago a boy who like to travel city to city,oh ya he's a shepherd  and he met this girl from tarifa 

she is a merchant's daughter and she was facinated by his stories about the places he been.When he return home he spoke with his father and his father wanted him to be priest but he wanted to travel so he left to seek out this gypsy old lady and he asked her to explain his dream to him and she told him to go and find the treasure but it so far away in Egypt, but he didn't have enough to pay her the reading of his palm but she asked him to giver her one tenth of his findings.But said what if i don't find a thing then she said i guess i don't get paid.well i will tell u the other part of my book tomorrow.

Our first independent reading went well we read for one hour.  The title of my "SAME KIND OF DIFFERENT AS ME"  so far it's a story of two boys who both  are raised in christian homes but are from different states.  One is dark skin and the other is a fare skin boy both cotton pickers,  one is poor and other middle class.  Sorry, till next time

Today in class we did our reading levels I was so surprised about my reading level. I really thought I will do better. I guess there is always room for improvement. I can't wait to start independent reading today. Now all I have to do is improve. Thanks again Mrs.Q.

FEB. 21. 2012 APRIL SALAS

I can't believe i was so nervous taking the placement test to determine which reading level we were at. I can admit Mrs. Q made me quite nervous.lol. I honestly thought I was going to place something lower because I was so sleepy and hungry. I actually took the chair and sat outside while everyone took turns to take the individual test. And not to mention I was the last one which wasn't all that bad because it made me prepare to take my turn :) Thanks for your time Mrs. Q and I will try my best to get an hour of reading in everyday to help me improve and I do believe you when you say its my comprehension that I need practice on. I do need to know what words mean for future reference. Because I know a reader can read but a true reader can say the meaning of what they are reading!

The Howard Gardner test! Hmm where do I start? I would like to wonder what does Howard Gardner really know about giving a person a test and identifying where do we place?
I reviewed him online and I come to find he has numerous honors and such. Wow he's also known for his theories of multiple intelligences. I am truly amazed, so therefore I can believe what I'm being tested on thanks to searching him and finding out how he fits into giving us such placement!

Today we did a Quick Reading Assessment. Although I'm not too satisfied with my results I think my nervousness got the best of me, which is fine. I know I'll improve in time. Now, I just need to search around for a novel that is within my reading level and that best interest me. Anyone have any suggestions?

 before I started even doing the test I was laughing and breathing I was like hang on Mrs.Q you made me nervous and then I took a deep breath and said okay I'm ready and then when I was done taking the test felt like a relief,  I found out what reading level I am on and where I can improve my reading skills, but like Mrs.Q said with a little more practice 30 min everyday I can be a good reader you know how that saying goes practice make perfect.

Oh my another questionaire!  this time it is going to be Multiple Intelligence Test by Howard Gardern a hidden talent that we have but do not know what or how to utilize it.  So, his test consist of thirty questions and after these questions you tally up your numbers according to seven intelligence.  Which ever intelligence you fall under that should be where we need to do our strength.  Actually, I need to work on my weakness which is comprehending.  Further more, one more rule added from the strategies "monitoring".  We will be utilizing all these skill through our independent reading can't wait for that I already have a book.  Just wanted to add, I did these questionaire to my daughter Jazmine whom is 17 and my niece 18, they actually had the same intellegence, which was Musical Intellengence.  How odd?

Today in class we took a test to see where we are in learning. Its from Howard Gardner's theory.  I love that test. Most of it is true but come on I never picked up a instrument. But I do love to listen to MUSIC. Am happy to have taken that test. Now like Mrs.Q said you gotta work on your STRENGTH. We also talked about improving our comprehending when reading. There's a definite answer to doing a comprehension skill is to find one way that works for you. Taking the multiple intelligence test made me realize something about myself. That you can always go back on your weaknesses and making it better. I've always thought of myself not being talented. Going through these theories changed all that by understanding who I am because I chose to be that person within.

Today we discussed about Howard Earl Gardner's theory of the multiple intelligences: and we did our multiple intellgences test.and i scored a 4 on logical mathematical and music but like Mrs Q said we need to work on our weaknesses. well i know i need to work on my weaknesses and do a little better on it.

FEBRUARY 14, 2012 (TUESDAY)

A surprise assessment test on Valentine's Day. I was a little nervous and scared not knowing what to expect on the test. Mrs. Q was explaining that it's gonna show us where our reading level is suppose to be. I missed several of the harder words. I've seen most of the words through reading but I guess I haven't read for many years that I completely forgotten how to pronounce some of those words. At the end, she told me that I passed the test and was able to read 10-12 grade level. I felt some kind of accomplishment for some odd reason.

Oh no an assestment quiz!  My mind went from relaxing to nervousness, and to make matters worse she asked the rest of us to wait outside.  I said to myself what is that test?  Took the test that lasted only a few min.  I appreciated it though because now I know exactly where my reading level is.  All this time and not even know what reading level I was during my high school days.  And she also gave some tips to remember and apply it to my writing.  Thank you Mrs. Q
