I like to put in that the ending was so sad, how she never came back and no one ever found her. But what I took from that story was Mariquita being a strong independent person. Knowing that her husband was so far away she never gave up hope and her faith. It was nice to know that Chris came all the way back to Guam to find out about his mother and his culture. But since Japanese and Guamanian's live amongst eachother it's hard to bring the past into this life. I'm not sorry I'm part Japanese but I am sorry for the people who endured all those horrific events. Hafa adai and welcome to our classroom Blog.
