The ending of Mariquita is a very sad ending. When Mariquita went to work for the Japanese, she took on some roles she didn't need to take but did to prevent the other females from being hurt. She respected herself and did everything she can just to get by but eventually in the end, she didn't make it. Such a horrible feeling to lose a love one.

I like your photo Sabrina, yes, I could just see her with taking all those slashes, especially when they tied her to the lime tree and treated her like she wasn't human, just hateful. But you know what! her children survive and that all mattered to her.
