Diary dated October 29, 1943. The Van Daan family are at the end of their money. Mr. Van Daan decides to sell Mrs. Van Daan's fur coat however if the fur coat was to be sold Mrs. Van Daan wants the money to be spent to purchase new clothes after the war but of course Mr. Van Daan doesn't agree with it because they are in desperate need of household items. So of course Mrs. Van Daan yells and screams. Everyone at the Secret Annexe was scared but yet all they can do is listen.
Halfway thru the book and reading stories of how Mrs. Van Daan is, it seems to be that she is one selfish bitch. During arguements, she always wants to be the right one. She likes to start arguements. She likes to judge people. Now that her family are in need to purchase important things, she wants to save the money to purchase clothes after the war. Couldn't she think of things to do or purchase while the war is done?
